Dear Boys and Girls,

I am so psyched to welcome you to the 2008/2009 school year at Ryerson Elementary School.  In just a few short weeks you will begin your journey into your best year yet, 4th grade!  My name is Mrs. Perry and I will be your leader for our fun filled learning adventure.  I hope all of you have had a super summer filled with laughs and smiles.  I am very excited to meet each of you and trust that after enjoying this restful break, you are geared up to start a fabulous new year!

I had one of the most exciting summers of my life, I got married!  You may have been wondering… Who is Mrs. Perry?  Is she a new teacher at Ryerson? Well the answer is No!  You would have known me last year as Miss Paolella or Miss P, I am now Mrs. Perry!  The cool thing is that you can call me Mrs. P so my name didn’t change too much.  Anyway, I got married in Cape Cod on July 25th.  It was a beautiful summer day and everyone had a wonderful time.  It definitely was a blast getting married!  We ate great food and danced the night away!  After the wedding I ventured off on a honeymoon vacation to Bermuda! I spent a lot of time on the beach.  I did a lot of tanning, eating, reading, swimming, and riding the waves!  The waves were pretty big over there!  It was quite an adventure!  I am now concentrating on building a home for us in room 16 at Ryerson.  I am very eager to hear about all of your summer adventures when we return to school.

We have a bright and exciting year ahead of us filled with fun things to learn and study.  Listed below are a few things you will need for the school year.

School Supplies:

  1. school suppliesAt least 5 sharpened pencils
  2. 2 blue or black pens & 1 red pen
  3. colored pencils OR crayons OR markers
  4. Five 2-pocket folders that are 3 hole punched
  5. A 3 ring binder to keep folders in
(NO LARGER THAN 1 ½ inches thick)
  6. At least 2 dry erase marker
  7. 1 coffee can (regular sized) for a project we will be doing the first week of school.
(This will eventually be a place to keep all of your pencils and stuff, so there is no need to buy another pencil box or case.)
  8. 1 picture of something fun you did over the summer!
  9. A positive attitude, smile, eagerness to have fun, and a love for the YANKEES!
(don’t worry Red Sox fans I won’t go too hard on you!)
Optional:
  1. 1 or 2 books to keep in your desk for silent reading
  2. a box of tissues for the class

I am looking forward to seeing all of your smiling faces at school soon!  Until then, enjoy the rest of your summer!  Can’t wait to meet you all!  We will be the best class in the school!  Welcome to our 4th grade family!
