Dear Boys and Girls,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. My name is Mrs. Karimi and I will be your fourth grade teacher this year at Ryerson School. I can’t wait to meet each of you and begin our fun-filled journey, full of learning and adventures!
 I hope you all had a relaxing and enjoyable vacation, and I am looking forward to hearing all about your summers. I was able to spend a lot of time with my family and visited Florida and Canada. I have been busy preparing our classroom and am enjoying watching the Olympics.

We have a busy and exciting year ahead of us. Here is a list of supplies that you will need for the coming year:

1. 1 non-mechanical pencil sharpener
2. 5 two-pocket folders in different colors
3. 1 three-subject notebook
4. 1 box of washable markers (a set of 12 is plenty)
5. 1 box of colored pencils (a set of 12 is plenty)
6. 4 dry-erase markers
7. 2 highlighters
8. 1 box of #2 pencils
9. 1 regular-sized coffee can for a project we will be working on the first week of school
10. 2 books to keep in your desk for silent reading
11. 2 special items that mean a lot to you for the first day of school

Optional

1. 1 box of tissues for the class
2. Hand sanitizer

I am looking forward to meeting all of you at orientation. Please remember to bring your smiling faces, a positive attitude, and a snack for the first day of school. Welcome to 4th grade!
