From the Principal Dr. Paul
Sinicrope
Welcome back to a new school year. I hope everyone had an enjoyable summer and that your children are ready for their new adventure whether new to Ryerson School or returning for another year. We are so pleased to have everyone back and look forward to the new and exciting learning that your children will experience this year. The teachers work together on a daily basis to coordinate activities and units of study to provide each student with the best learning opportunities possible. During the first several weeks and throughout the school year, teachers focus on the social and emotional aspects of the children as well as the academics. Our support staff visits the classrooms to make an initial contact with all the students and then schedule in-class lessons that address peer relationships and social development. Our goal is to help our students grow in all aspects of their development by fostering strengths and supporting areas of need.
We have put in place schedules for each grade level that allow for support in all areas to take place while trying to maintain solid blocks of instructional time. Our language arts and math specialists work with classroom teachers and paraprofessionals to provide instruction to meet the needs of every student whether remedial or enrichment. We use our library media specialists and paraprofessional to enhance instruction and provide library and technology support to teachers and students. We are fortunate to have a paraprofessional assigned to every classroom to provide support to any student in need under the direction of the classroom teacher and the language arts and math specialist’s direction.
Again, welcome back to another exciting school year. Our goal is to have every child wake up every morning and be eager and ready to experience the adventures that a new school day will bring.
